Simone's love for gymnastics first began at the age of six after a visit with her day-care group to Bannon Gymnastix. Simone remained under Aimee Borman's guidance until 2011. Biles was awarded a gold medal in floor exercise and a bronze in vault during the Women's Junior Olympic National Championships in 2010, before advancing to the elite level of gymnastics in the year the year 2011.
